High ResolutionRira Sugawara was born in Tokyo, her mother was an artist and her father was a book editor. Rira attended Waseda University where she studied Art and History of Art during her time there she developed a love for creating print designs. After graduating Rira started working as a print designer in France and then she went forward to create Dans La Vie.
Dans La Vie’s SS12 collection Clash Beauty is the Japanese designer Rira Sugawara’s second solo show. This season the print theme is carried over from the last, inspired deeply by Tokyo in the aftermath of the overwhelming earthquake earlier this year. The sky, the asphalt street, the buildings and the city drew into print.
